We are ecstatic to collaborate with you on our second symposium of Columbia Slough Creek College!

The symposium will take place Saturday, September 30th from 9:30am to 6:00pm in collaboration with NAYA and the Columbia Slough Watershed Council. Course themes do not have to be directly related to the slough, but we ask that they be site specific, however you want to interpret this.

The main goal of Creek College is simple; translating art and education into environmental restoration. We wholeheartedly believe it can produce positive change and that the simplicity of the idea is key.

Details below:

Site
All classes are held outside in the vicinity of NAYA, Whitaker Pond, or on or near the Slough. Please let us know if you have a site preference for your class.

Barters
As we prepare for this iteration of Creek College, we’re consulting the wonderful folks at Columbia Slough Watershed Council to determine the barters. Feel free to check out their website to learn more about what they do, and to get more information about the watershed: www.columbiaslough.org

Time Slots
Classes are one hour each. Two workshops will be scheduled for the morning between 9:30am and 12pm, followed by a lunch break, and two subsequent workshops between 1:30pm and 3:30pm. Our speaker panel and discussion will follow the workshops at 4pm.

Barters will be half hour-45 min. activities following the first round and second round of workshops. Barters are set by the Watershed Council and Portland Parks though if you have an idea for one we’d love to hear it!

Budget
We can offer an honorarium of $60, along with a supply budget of $40, for each one hour course.
